Method: |
- To prepare the wonton wrappers, sieve the flour and salt together.
- Add hot water gradually and make soft dough. Knead well till smooth and keep aside for 30 minutes.
- Knead the dough with oiled hands until it becomes smooth and elastic. Keep dough aside.
- Toast the sesame seeds in a heavy bottomed kadhai on a medium flame until they are golden. Cool. Crush them coarsely.
- For the stuffing, mix toasted sesame seeds with brown sugar, dates and butter.
- Roll out wonton dough into small thin circles of 2 ½ diameter.
- Place about 1 tsp of the stuffing in the center of each wonton wrapper.
- Pull the edges of the dough around the filling and with the help of a little milk, twist to seal like a moneybag.
- Deep fry in oil until golden. Cool.
- Sprinkle the powdered sugar on top.
