Ingredients:

Refined flour   40 g
Butter   20 g
Castor sugar   20 g
Coffee powder   1/2 tsp
Baking powder   1/4 tsp
Egg   1/4
Milk   to make the dough
Walnut halves   6
 

Method:

  • Sieve flour, coffee powder and baking powder together.
  • Cream the butter and sugar.
  • Beat in the egg.
  • Add sieved dry ingredients and make a soft dough using milk.
  • Shape the mixture into 5 to 6 balls.
  • Keep them on a greased tray, flatten the top of each ball slightly and place halves of walnuts on top of each.
  • Bake in a moderate oven (350 degree F) for 15 minutes.
  • Remove and cool on wire rack.
