Ingredients:

Refined flour (Maida)   40 g
Butter   15 g
Castor sugar   20 g
Sodium bicarbonate   1 pinch
Salt   1 pinch
Egg   1/4
Vanilla essence   2-3 drops
Cherries (chopped)   10 g
Butter paper   1/4 sheet
 

Method:

  • Sieve the flour with soda carbonate and salt.
  • Cream the butter and sugar.
  • Add slightly beaten egg and vanilla.
  • Add flour and chopped cherries and mix well to make a homogeneous dough.
  • Shapes dough into an oblong shapes, roll in butter and chill for 15-20 minutes.
  • Cut in to biscuits 1/4" thick and place on baking tray.
  • Brush with egg or milk and bake at 3500 F till done.
  • Cool on a wire rack.
