| Refined flour (Maida) |

| Castor sugar |

| Sodium bicarbonate |

1 pinch |
| Salt |

| Egg |

| Vanilla essence |

2-3 drops |
| Cherries (chopped) |

Method: |
- Sieve the flour with soda carbonate and salt.
- Cream the butter and sugar.
- Add slightly beaten egg and vanilla.
- Add flour and chopped cherries and mix well to make a homogeneous dough.
- Shapes dough into an oblong shapes, roll in butter and chill for 15-20 minutes.
- Cut in to biscuits 1/4" thick and place on baking tray.
- Brush with egg or milk and bake at 3500 F till done.
- Cool on a wire rack.
